There Must Be Some Way Out Of Here from duncmc via flickr.
Another from the Hull flickr photowalk on Wednesday. This is again shot from the walkway alongside the River Hull at the back of High Street. That’s Myton Street bridge, with the tidal barrier behind and to the right. If you know what to look for you can see The Deep beyond that, perched on Sammy’s Point where the River Hull flows out into the Humber.

River Wide, River Deep from duncmc via flickr.
One from the archives, taken back in February last year. A combination of twilight, a still evening and high tide provided an excellent photo opportunity. This is a composite of two exposures, manually comped together in Photoshop to make a panoramic view of the Humber beneath the famous bridge.

Losing The Light from duncmc via flickr.
An archive shot of the Humber Bridge from February this year. Again the high tide and stillness of the water made great conditions for photography. I have often been accused of adding the vertical light reflections artificially, but other than a white balance adjustment to remover the orange cast from the street lamps, and tweaking the contrast and saturation, this is as it came out of the camera.

Light And Shadow from duncmc via flickr.
Another from the archives. This was taken in February this year and is another from my Humberscapes series. A night shot of the Humber Bridge, stretching out across the river looking south towards Lincolnshire. The shadows cast onto the water and the foreshore from the street lights on the bridge made for an interesting composition.

In A Roundabout Way from duncmc via flickr.
There isn’t much happening in the way of inspiration at the moment so here’s one from the archive. One of my most popular photos on flickr, depsite the mundane subject matter. This is the footbridge near the Daltry Street flyover on the Clive Sullivan Way in Hull. The blurring may not to be everyone’s taste but it was required to give more focus to the subject.

Above And Beyond from duncmc via flickr.
Here’s another view of the Humber Bridge in that incredible fog last Friday morning. I had the luxury of a little more time on this one. It’s had more processing and a more judicious crop, and for me it’s a better image.

Your Clouded Judgement from duncmc via flickr.
The fog rolling down the river this morning was awesome. I rattled off several shots, but this one grabbed me first, and there’s only time to process one before hitting the town tonight for a friend’s birthday drinks. More sunset pics to follow as well from tonight – another spectacle of nature, and quite different from the last few evenings.

In The Blink Of An Eye from duncmc via flickr.
Probably my favourite of this series from Newcastle. The Millennium Bridge on Gateshead Quays, with the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art behind.

Open & Closed from duncmc via flickr.
I‘ve shot it before and I’ll shoot it again. The crumbling Scott Street bridge in Hull, a grade II listed building which is too costly to repair (£5M) or remove (£125K), and is maintained in its state of dereliction by Hull City Council at a cost of £500 per year.
