Yosemite Valley in July. After Vegas and The Grand Canyon it was a relief to get out of the desert sun and see a bit of greenery.

The sun was setting as we drove into Mojave after a long day on the road, and the last rays were glinting off the slowly turning blades of the wind turbines up on the hill. By the time we had checked into the hotel and unpacked the bags the best of the light was gone. A quick walk up the road yielded a few shots of the wind farm silhouetted against the final light in the sky.

One of several electronic billboards pumping out the latest iPod advert at the Fashion Mall on Las Vegas Strip. The desert heat was practically unbearable, and the Ting Tings on a 20 second loop wore thin pretty quickly. Shut up and let me go – that pretty much sums up Vegas.

Whilst in Cyprus back in May we spent an afternoon up near Polis in a small village called Latchi. After lunch on the waterfront we walked around the harbour. I knew as soon as I saw this scene that there was a picture to be had, but finding the right crop was trickier than I thought.

All over the island there are small shrines like this one. They can often be seen at the roadside, but this one was at the edge of a field a few minutes walk from the villa where we stayed.

Another photo from our recent trip to Cyprus. This was taken a walk one morning, not far from the villa where we were staying. The right hand fork takes you along the cliff tops with the sea to your right. The other takes you over the fields towards the village of Mandria.

Another shot from my early morning stroll. This is looking back down the beach to the west. The sun was still fairly low in the sky behind me, picking out the distant cliffs in its warm light.

Another holiday snap from the recent trip to Cyprus. On this particular morning I made a special effort to get up early, snook out of the villa and went for a mooch down by the sea. Despite my early start the sun was in the sky and I suspect the best of the light was long gone. However it was not all in vain as I still got a few decent shots. This shot is taken looking eastwards along the coast.
