One of my favourites from a recent series at Brimham Rocks. The flat grey skies had begun to clear and bit of blue was showing, but still with plenty of cloud to give the sky some mood. The rock formations lead the eye into the focal point which is a rock known as the Druid’s Writing Desk. Although it is one of the most recognisable rock formations here, it is not as widely photographed as many of the others.

Between A Rock And A Hard Place from duncmc via flickr.
It’s the view that everyone takes of this lonely tree clinging onto a rocky outcrop at Brimham Rocks. The converging perspective of the ultra-wide angle lens really works the rock strata for full effect.

The Most Photographed Tree In North Yorkshire from duncmc via flickr.
I had high hopes for our trip to Brimham Rocks on Sunday, but the dull weather left us with a flat, greay sky for most of the day. A little bit of Photomatix in post really brings out texture detail in the rocks.
