Between A Rock And A Hard Place from duncmc via flickr.
It’s the view that everyone takes of this lonely tree clinging onto a rocky outcrop at Brimham Rocks. The converging perspective of the ultra-wide angle lens really works the rock strata for full effect.

The Most Photographed Tree In North Yorkshire from duncmc via flickr.
I had high hopes for our trip to Brimham Rocks on Sunday, but the dull weather left us with a flat, greay sky for most of the day. A little bit of Photomatix in post really brings out texture detail in the rocks.

The Humber Dock from duncmc via flickr.
Tuesday night looking over Hull Marina - formerly the Humber Dock – with the last of the sun. The remains of Pepis bar and restaurant is in view to the left of the frame.

Ringside Seat from duncmc via flickr.
Shot from St Andrew’s Dockside looking across the old dock basin towards the derelict Lord Line building. The dock was closed in the mid 1970s, about ten years after this picture was taken.

I Must Go Down To The Sea Again from duncmc via flickr.
It was a cold and bleak on Hornsea beach when I took this back in December. It reminds me of this shot despite the differences.

All These Places Feel Like Home from duncmc via flickr.
A well placed groyne provided a suitable camera platform for this half-a-second exposure on Hornsea beach. A polarising filter (the rim just visible at the corners of the frame) was all I had to slow down the shutter speed to achieve the blurry foam trails left behind by the receding wash. Shame about the horizon. Maybe I’ll have a tripod with me next time.

Out With The Old, In With The New from duncmc via flickr.
We drove out to the coast yesterday. It was nice and bleak, just the thing to blow away a few Christmas cobwebs. This was taken on the beach at Withernsea, deserted but for a few fishermen and a pair of photographers.

Outside Again from duncmc via flickr.
Thornton Abbey Gatehouse viewed from the outside as we were leaving. I really liked the place, it’s quite a gem and only seven miles from the Humber Bridge. Despite its being almost my doorstep I only discovered it while browsing images on Flickr.

Through The Arched Window from duncmc via flickr.
Eight hundred year old remains of the octagonal chapterhouse at Thornton Abbey in Lincolnshire. Very similar to this shot – I can’t really choose between them.
