Low View Of A High Tide

Low View Of A High Tide from duncmc via flickr.
Unusually high water down at the river – must have been a spring tide or something. A brisk breeze meant the river was quite choppy, resulting in mini-breakers on some of the more exposed areas of bank.

I really like this photograph. It reminded me of the Pentax MZ5N that I used before moving to digital, which had a built in ‘panoramic setting’ (actually just a mask that cut off the top and bottom of the exposure) that I loved using to get images with this kind of feel. I think the flat, open landscape of this area - and especially on the estuary - really lends itself to this sort of filmic effect.
Great capture of the estuary atmosphere.
