An Alternative Crop

An Alternative Crop from duncmc via flickr.
As I drove past on the road, the blanket of yellow oilseed rape flowers covering this field was spectacularly cut with swathes of blue. I stopped to take some pictures but after leaving the car, climbing over a fence and walking 100 yards to the edge of the field the effect was completely lost.
I think the blue flowers are borage (or starflower) – presumably the remains of a previous year’s crop.

There’s still a lot of impact to be had here - especially against that sky…

I love the ultra-wide effect on landscapes (and almost everything else). Do you use RAW?

@ CMP73 – Thanks for your complimentary (as ever) comments, and the fave (and you too EM).
@ pixell – Ditto the ultra-wide, it is without doubt my favourite lens. Yes I always shoot in RAW.
