Looking For Life

Looking For Life by duncmc

Looking For Life from duncmc via flickr.

I’m drawn down to the river again by the setting sun, but with nothing particular to take a picture of. I took a few of the sun going down but this was the only one I took looking in the other direction, and it turned out the best. Once again I used a tonemapped HDR layer to pull out detail in the mud and the rocks.

It’s a beautiful shot, no doubt about it.

The colours, tones and compostion are spot on.

@ CMP73 – Thanks Carl – it’s the colours in the clouds that do it for me I think.

Wonderful shot, you make the Humber look inviting, thats some accomplishment

Seen on my contacts page (?)

agreed, this is really nice, although I think by getting the detail in the mud you do lose some of the gleam. I love this part of the Humber estuary with its marshes, mudflats and seabirds – it feels a hundred miles from Hull.

there’s more to the humber than brown sludge. really beautiful shot.
